If you haven’t been living under a rock, then you probably heard of Windows 8. It’s new, it’s different, it moved your cheese to a different time zone.
And it’s freely available for a 90 day evaluation!
You can download the Enterprise edition here.
A few things to note before you try it:
- This evaluation cannot be upgraded!
- You will have to install a retail version of Windows when the trial period is over! Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
- To revert to a previous version of Windows (say, Win-7), you’ll have to do a clean install.
You may wish to try installing it on a virtual machine for evaluation. Personally, I’m partial to Virtual Box, though you can of course create one with any platform.
I’ve already installed it. So far, so good. Everything but my Dell’s fingerprint reader works. Grrrr….
Thank you so much for providing this suggestion and its trial version for 90 days of Windows 8.I am also eager to use this windows 8 for my laptop that how it works.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I’m a little surprised in your finding that the execution is slower when calling into the native layer from JavaScript. Where I’ve encountered situations like that I was unable to find the JavaScript-to-native mechanisms provided by the platform to be the bottle neck. In those cases there was usually a more egregious issue with the implementation. Typical fumbles in web development like too many DOM updates or queries, JavaScript animations instead of CSS3 animations and just plain expensive algorithms have been more bothersome than the bridge itself. But that’s just my own experience.
ReplyDeleteApplication development is different from a browser-based environment, we have provided an API that will Allow you to create an un-sandboxed file system that will be at the root of the device file system.
ReplyDeleteThe number of facts and ideas given here are quite considerable and up to the level to my considerations, I'm convinced to see it again in the future to have better results.
